The Kunstraum Dornbirn is an institution that is active in the field of contemporary fine art and shows the latest trends in contemporary art. He sees the conception and realisation of exhibitions primarily as a means to this end.

The exhibition venue is the assembly hall of the former Rüschwerke in the "Stadtgarten Dornbirn". The quality of the architecture in its original and raw state exerts a special attraction. The installative works of art are created by the artist on site as far as possible.

Dornbirn as an "urban landscape", as the city with the least urban development and the strongest relation to nature in Vorarlberg, but also the "inatura - Erlebnis Naturschau Dornbirn" in the neighbourhood contribute to the orientation of the exhibition projects in terms of content. The main theme is "Art and Nature". This includes the sensual, reflective and artistic-analytical handling of the concept of nature, with contemporary ruptures in the perception of nature and the tension between artificial and natural worlds of perception.

The Kunstraum Dornbirn primarily presents recognized artists, but also interesting experimental positions of young artists who deal with this topic,
the possibility to artistically implement their relationship to nature and their view of things.

It is important to us to make the projects understandable and tangible for the visitors. As part of our mediation, we offer special programmes for visitors of all ages. A large circle of friends and sponsors supports the Kunstraum Dornbirn in a variety of ways and makes continuous activity possible.
