In 1986, the Steindorf Ice Sports Club built what was then only the third artificial ice rink in Carinthia with a great deal of idealism. With this open-air artificial ice facility, the club secured a leading role in Carinthian ice hockey and figure skating for many years.
In 1992 the Ossiachersee - Halle - Betriebs Ges.m.b.H & Co KG was founded. The start-up capital came from many private individuals, tradesmen in the region, the local banks (Sparkasse Feldkirchen, Volksbank Feldkirchen and Raiffeisenbank Ossiachersee), the ESC Steindorf, KEHV and the Bezirksstockverband Feldkirchen. Substantial funds were financed by the province of Carinthia through the Steindorf municipality.
