The Schwaz silver mine - in the footsteps of the miners

"The mother of all mines", the largest silver mine of the late Middle Ages, is located in Schwaz in Tyrol. Up to 10,000 miners searched for and found silver and copper here 500 years ago, making the town of Schwaz the largest mining metropolis in the world! Discover breathtaking insights into times gone by - the silver mine will remain an unforgettable excursion for you!

Guided tours
On a classic guided tour (duration approx. 90 minutes) in our silver mine, you will gain a fascinating insight into the rough and tumble life of the Schwaz miners during the silver heyday in the Middle Ages. Guided tours take place every 10-30 minutes in the high season and every 40, 60 or 120 minutes in the low season (details under opening hours).
